Graduating with 1st class honours from N.C.A.D in 1994, Fiona’s degree exhibition was made up of a series of large scale architectural installations. Since then she has been commissioned for site specific works, including sculptural and Installation works in Schools, Colleges, Public amenity Spaces, Public Buildings and for County Councils. The materials and techniques Fiona uses depends upon the context or site. She uses cast materials, stone, lighting, stainless steel and mosaic on 3D forms/built forms. The techniques used incorporate both traditional techniques and new technologies including C.A.D.
She was awarded her HDip in Visual Education in 1997. She has continually worked in public art and in collaborative projects, with various, architects, landscape teams and engineers and in educational settings. Fiona continued her studies in The University of Limerick, Her MA studies in “Art in Architecture” has built upon her desire to create works that engage and inspire and that form a dialogue with the viewer and the site.
Fiona works from her purpose built studio in Kells,Co Meath, where she says her children provide valued “feedback and critiques on her work”.
